Privacy Policy
Last updated October 21, 2026
The short version:
- You can use Jobslot without an account. Signed out, your saves stay in your own browser.
- If you sign in, we store your account details and the things you save so they follow you across devices.
- Jobslot doesn't show ads or use tracking or analytics cookies today. We may add ads later to keep Jobslot free; if we do, we'll update this policy first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
- We never give advertisers your name, email address, Google account data, or the jobs and companies you save.
- We may share or sell anonymous totals about what people look for on Jobslot, like "410 people saved this company." They never identify you, and we never report on a group smaller than 10 people.
- You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time.
This policy explains how Jobslot ("Jobslot", "we", "us") handles information when you use the website at jobslot.fyi (the "Service"). Jobslot helps you discover jobs at startups by spinning a slot machine and browsing public job listings. If you have questions, contact us at brainrotalot@gmail.com.
1. Information we collect
When you sign in
You sign in with your Google account. When you do, we receive and store:
- From Google: your name, email address and profile picture. We don't receive your Google password, contacts, files or any other Google data.
- A unique account ID, plus the date you signed up and last signed in.
What you save while signed in
- Shortlist: jobs and companies you save (job title, company, location and link).
- Rig preferences: the roles, levels, locations and keywords you choose, and how strongly to "rig" the machine.
- Daily spin results: the companies on each daily pull, whether you hit a jackpot, and your streak.
- Company alerts: the companies you follow, which of their job postings you've already seen, alerts for new postings, and whether you want alerts by email.
Stored only in your browser
Jobslot itself doesn't set cookies. It uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in, to remember settings such as sound and jackpot odds, and to keep your spin history and saves when you're signed out. This information stays on your device unless you sign in, at which point your saves are added to your account. Signing out clears your account's copy from that browser.
What we don't collect
Today we don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't collect payment information. If we add advertising, ad partners may collect some information through cookies; see Advertising below.
2. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To save your shortlist, rig preferences, daily results and alerts, and sync them across your devices.
- To tailor the slot machine and job list to your rig preferences.
- To check the companies you follow for new job postings and, if you turn on "Email me new roles", to send you an email digest of them.
- To produce anonymous, aggregated statistics about what job seekers are looking for (see Aggregated insights).
- To respond when you contact us, and to keep the Service working and secure.
We don't sell, rent or trade your account information (your name, email address and what you save), and we don't use it to target ads.
3. Information from Google
When you sign in with Google, we use your name, email address and profile picture only to create and identify your Jobslot account, show who is signed in, and (if you opt in) email you job alerts. We don't use Google user data for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't share it with anyone except the service providers listed below that we need to run Jobslot. Humans don't read this data except when you ask us for help or when required by law.
Jobslot's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can remove Jobslot's access at any time from your Google Account settings.
4. Service providers we use
We share information only with providers that help us run Jobslot, and only as needed for them to do so:
| Provider | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, sign-in and our database (hosted in the United States) | Your account details and everything you save while signed in |
| Sign in with Google; web fonts | Sign-in requests you start; your IP address when fonts load | |
| Resend | Sending job alert emails | Your email address and the alert contents, only if you turn on email alerts |
| Our website host | Serving the Jobslot website | Standard request information such as your IP address |
| Advertising partners (not used yet) | Showing and measuring ads, if we add them | Cookie and device information and the pages you view on Jobslot, and only after you consent where that's required. Never your account details or saves. |
Job boards and other websites
Job listings come from public job boards run by Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby. To check for new roles at companies you follow, your browser loads those public boards directly, so those services see a normal web request from you. When you open a job or careers link you leave Jobslot, and that website's own privacy policy applies. Company names and logos belong to their owners; we show them only to identify where jobs are.
Legal reasons
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the public or Jobslot.
5. Advertising
Jobslot doesn't show ads today. To keep Jobslot free, we may add them in the future, for example ads from an advertising network such as Google AdSense, or sponsored placements where a company pays to be featured on the reels or in the job list. If we do:
- Ads and sponsored placements will be labeled so you can tell them apart from regular results.
- Your account stays out of it. We won't give advertisers or sponsors your name, email address, Google account data, or the jobs and companies you save, and a company that pays for a sponsored placement receives no information about you.
- Ad partners may use cookies. Ad networks may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies to show and measure ads and, where allowed, to show ads based on your visits to Jobslot and other websites. Their use of that information is covered by their own privacy policies, which we'll link here.
- Consent where required. In places that require it (for example the EEA, UK and Switzerland), we'll ask for your consent before any advertising cookies are used, and you'll be able to change your choice at any time.
- Opting out. You'll be able to opt out of personalized ads, for example through Google's Ads Settings and industry tools such as aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
- US state privacy laws. In some states (like California), letting ad partners collect data for personalized ads can count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information. If that applies, we'll offer a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" choice and honor browser signals such as Global Privacy Control.
We'll update this policy, including the list of advertising partners, before any ads appear.
6. Aggregated insights
We add up activity across many signed-in people to understand job-seeker demand, and we may share, publish or sell these totals, for example to companies, recruiters or investors. Examples: how many people saved or follow a company, how many landed it as a daily jackpot, which of its roles were saved most, or how many people set their rig to remote AI roles.
- Totals only. These statistics are counts across groups of people. They never include your name, email address, profile picture, Google account data, or a list of what any one person saved.
- At least 10 people. We never report a number that describes fewer than 10 people. Our database enforces this, so smaller groups are left out or shown only as "fewer than 10".
- No re-identification. We keep these statistics in de-identified form, we don't try to re-identify anyone from them, and we don't allow the people we share them with to try.
- Only signed-in activity. They come from what signed-in people save on Jobslot (saves, follows, daily results and rig choices), not from Google. What you do while signed out stays in your browser and isn't included.
- Your choice. To have your activity left out of these totals, email brainrotalot@gmail.com from the address on your account.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account information and saves for as long as your account exists. New-role alerts are removed once you mark them seen or the job is no longer posted; for companies you follow, we keep a list of the job links you've already seen so we only alert you to new ones. When you delete your account, we delete your account and everything saved in it within 30 days, except where we must keep something to comply with the law.
8. Your choices and rights
- Use Jobslot without an account. Everything works signed out; your saves then stay in your browser.
- Turn off email alerts with the "Email me new roles" switch in the alerts panel.
- Leave aggregated insights by emailing us, as described under Aggregated insights.
- Opt out of personalized ads (once we show ads) through the consent choices on Jobslot and the tools listed under Advertising.
- See, correct, export or delete your data: email brainrotalot@gmail.com from the address on your account and we'll respond within 30 days.
- Clear browser data: signing out, or clearing your browser's site data, removes what Jobslot stored on that device.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights, such as to object to or restrict certain processing or to complain to a data protection authority. Contact us and we'll help.
9. Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Each person's data in our database is protected by access rules that let only that signed-in person read or change it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. Children
Jobslot is meant for job seekers and isn't directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 16; if you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Jobslot changes. We'll change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes, such as starting to show ads, we'll update this policy before the change takes effect and let signed-in users know in the app or by email.
12. Contact
